Mother, May I Borrow...: Cocktail

I never used to be a fan of gold. When I was old enough to buy my own jewelry, I always went for silver. I'm not sure if gold is an acquired taste or something that develops over time, but these days my preference is for the yellow stuff.

So, you can imagine my excitement when my mother asked if I wanted to keep or sell this black & gold cocktail ring.

Keep please.

There's just something about this color combination that seems elegant and fun at the same time. Playful opulence.

Whatever it is, I'm a fan. Thanks, mom. This ring and I are going to get along just fine...

Here it is - my obligatory Christmas post. Luckily, I have the perfect photo to include. Thanks to my great grandparents Lena and John Boyce and one snazzy looking Christmas tree. (Actually, this post should be titled "Father, May I Borrow..." since these are his grandparents, but let's not harp on details).

A friend of mine told me it reminded her of the greeting cards with old photos on the front and really sarcastic messages. Totally.

At any rate, it really put me in the holiday mood. So put on a fancy party dress or your best pair of argyle socks and spread a little cheer. I wish you all the best - whatever or however you celebrate.
