To Market, To Market

Last weekend, my boyfriend's parents came to visit, and his mother surprised us with a handmade market bag.  She knows how much we love to shop for local produce and the coolest re-usable bag I had until now was a burlap beauty from Fresh Market.

But this bag is definitely my new favorite.  I can't wait for warmer weather and trips to the Headhouse Square Farmers Market

It's a linen-cotton blend and machine-washable.  It also expands like you wouldn't believe.  I hung it on the wall to take these pictures and I left it there with the tag on because I love it so much.

Isn't she talented?  I have been trying to convince her to sell some pieces on Etsy.  I can definitely round up some hipsters and make her a bundle.

What do you think?

Sylvia's Black Purse

Every girl pines for the perfect LBD (little black dress), but what about a LBP?  Yep, a little black purse.  I inherited mine from my great aunt Sylvia.

Unfortunately, there were no tags inside so I didn't know anything about the bag. I did a little digging online and discovered that it's a vintage Ruth Saltz handbag from sometime in the 1970s.

Here are some more Ruth Saltz bags like mine:

LBP?  Who am I kidding.  The color doesn't matter at all.  The perfect go-to purse can be any color, size shape or material.

Do you have a vintage bag? What's your favorite go-to purse?
